First of all, what is a TCG?
TCG is short for “Trading Card Game“. This means that those pretty pieces of cardboard with attacks and health can actually be used to play a game. In fact, Pokémon the card game has been around for over 25 years ! People of all ages love the game, for both it’s simplicity and use of logical thinking.
During our events we also concentrate on teaching integrity and good sportsmanship, as we strongly believe that this is an important value to have in life.
Weekly Pokémon TCG events just for the kids!
We recommend ages 8 – 14 for our Kid’s Pokémon events, however we do have children as young as 6 play that love the game. It doesn’t matter whether your child is a seasoned player or just starting out, there is something for everyone! There is no club or hidden fees, we simply ask that you purchase one of our $7 Pokémon booster packs. This helps contribute towards the running of the event, plus they get some cards to keep!
Competitive Events
For the more experienced players, we also offer competitive events. These are held on separate days as our casual kid’s events, however that doesn’t stop some children from attending both! These events aren’t just for kids, so there will be adult players present. However everyone will be broken up into age groups, so they’ll very rarely face off against an adult. The competitive events are a great chance to play against even more experienced players, aiding in growth within the game.
Kid’s Pre-Release
Roughly once every 3 months, Pokémon comes out with a new set of cards. These cards will always contain any combination of new images, attacks, health and abilities. This means that even though your child may already have a Pikachu card, there’s nothing stopping them from collecting different versions!
To celebrate the new release of a set, we hold a small tournament a week or two before official release date. Entry into one of these tournaments costs $50, however you will get more than that back in cards!
At these events they will receive a Build and Battle box, which contains the following:
• A 40-card ready to play deck, including 1 of 4 alternate-art promo cards
• 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs of the latest set
• A code card for Pokémon TCG Live.
They will also receive additional packs at the end of the tournament depending on how many games you win.
These Pre-Release events are popular with both new and experienced players. We highly recommend new players to come and have a go, as it’s a great chance to get their hands on some staple cards whilst versing experienced players on an even playing ground.
Best of all, because these events are held before the new set’s release date, this means they’ll have the opportunity to get their hands on new cards before everyone else!
